In scenes alternating between heaven, hell and the Vatican, Das Liebeskonzil, of Oscar Panizza, portrays the dreaded venereal disease as God’s vengeance on his sexually hyperactive human creatures, especially those surrounding Pope Alexander VI (Rodrigo Borgia)...
